On March 29,2023, the International Seminar on Multilateral City Diplomacy was held in Guangzhou under the theme of Strength from Cities and Deepening Global Urban Cooperation. Nearly 100 representatives from institutions and international organisations, including Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the World Association of Major Metropolises (Metropolis) and Asian Mayors Forum (AMF), as well as foreign affairs departments of 24 Chinese cities, attended the seminar online or on-site. Speeches were delivered by Yan Dong, Vice President of CPAFFC, Jordi Vaquer, Secretary General of Metropolis, and Zhang Yajie, Vice-chairpersonof the CPPCC Guangzhou Municipal Committee. Guo Weihong, Vice-chairperson of Hangzhou People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, led a delegation to the seminar. Focusing on practice and experience in innovating multilateral city diplomacy, she made a speech and exchanged on the topic of "Multilateral Collaboration Mechanism & City's International Exchanges and Cooperation".
