The 7th UCLG ASPAC Congress

From 11 September 2018 to 16 September 2018, a group of 6 led by Du Shigen, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, and Wu Lianping, Vice President of Hangzhou Municipal People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, attended the 7th UCLG ASPAC Congress in Surabaya, Indonesia, and held the Annual Meeting 2018 of the BRLC. Hangzhou was elected a member of the UCLG ASAPC Council and Executive Bureau at the congress in the afternoon of September 14. Mrs. Tri Rismaharini, Mayor of the host city Surabaya, met with the delegation from Hangzhou after being elected the UCLG ASPAC President. In addition, a booth of Hangzhou was erected outside the main site of the congress, becoming the only booth of city in China. It showcased fresh highlights of Hangzhou in advancing River-based Development and proactively participating in the B&R construction during the period between the G20 Summit and the 2022 Asian Games. Led by the BRLC Secretariat (Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hangzhou Municipal People's Government), the promotion of Hangzhou culminated in success with all tasks completed.
