The Fifth BRLC Cross-border E-commerce Training Workshop, hosted by the UCLG-ASPAC Committee on the Belt and Road Local Cooperation (BRLC) and UCLG-ASPAC Secretariat, was held on August 19-21, 2025. The event attracts more than 40 participants from over 10 countries, including the representatives of the BRLC and UCLG-ASPAC member cities and institutions, foreign business organizations in Shanghai, foreigners entrepreneurs running business in Hangzhou, and e-commerce enterprises.
During the training session, participants visited Alibaba's Xixi Campus and Lazada's official live streaming studios, gaining first-hand experience of the digital economy and e-commerce operations. With themes including "China's E-commerce Ecosystem", "Global Platform Operations"and "AI Applications in E-commerce", the workshop featured in-depth interactions between experts and participants, who jointly explored global e-commerce market dynamics and opportunities.
Miao Chengchao, Vice President of the BRLC, affirmed the workshop's achievements at the closing ceremony and encouraged participants to apply what they learned in practice. Participants noted significant gains from the training. Binay Khadka, CEO from Nepal, aims to integrate China's cross-border e-commerce insights into his country's payment ecosystem, while Malaysia's Amber plans to adapt Hangzhou's experience to combine digital technology with tourism development in her home country.
Since 2018, the BRLC has organized five international e-commerce training workshops, attracting more and more young professionals worldwide to study cross-border e-commerce experience in Hangzhou.
