From May 21 to May 24, the UCLG ASPAC Executive Bureau Meeting & the Dialogue on International Economic and Trade Cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative was held in Yiwu. It was jointly hosted by the UCLG ASPAC, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the BRLC, with 350 domestic and international guests present. The BRLC Secretariat sent related personnel to attend the event in Yiwu and convene its annual thematic meeting in 2019 in the afternoon of May 21. Madam Tri Rismaharini, UCLG ASPAC President and Mayor of Surabaya, Indonesia, Shen Xin, Director General of Department of European & Asian Affairs, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Dr. Bernadia, Secretary General of UCLG ASPAC, attended the meeting and delivered speeches with invitation. At the meeting, recent work of the BRLC was reported, related promotional videos were played and representatives from Talent Office of Hangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Alibaba's Taobao University made promotional presentations regarding their projects with invitation. 60 persons including member representatives of the BRLC, representatives of UCLG ASPAC cities and observing and learning representatives of domestic and international cities attended the meeting. With invitation, the Management Office of China (Hangzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Area shared the practice of China (Hangzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Area at the Sub-forum “Local Governments Boost SMEs'Globalized Development”, gaining wide attention.
