On the evening of January 16, the 4th New Year Concert hosted by the UCLG-ASPAC Committee on the Belt and Road Local Cooperation (BRLC) was staged at Hangzhou Grand Theater, with the theme of "Cento Voices · One Harmony". This concert attracted more than 600 audiences, including BRLC members, foreign experts and scholars, and expats in Hangzhou.

Themed by "Cento Voices · One Harmony", the concert was conducted by Hong Yin, vice president and resident conductor of Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra. It was performed by Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra. The orchestra was joined by its band master Yuan Quan and morin khuur virtuoso Mai Lasu, presenting a symphonic narrative that bridges China and the West and connects the past with the present.
The performance opened with Isabella Overture (Franz von Suppe), followed by Blue Danube Waltz and Csardas. It also included Chinese folk songs (Flower Duet and Happiness at Sunrise), and film music (Up and La La Land), as well as classic works (The Typewriter and Cancan). These works turned "cross-linguistic understanding" into a tangible, audible experience and forged a spiritual bond among people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

On the site, Galloping Horses jointly performed by the symphony orchestra and morin khuur performer Mai Lasu received the loudest shouts from audiences. The profoundand expansive tone of the morin khuur echoed with the grand sound space of the symphony, forming a profound dialogue between "grassland whistling" and "urban symphony". Emer Emerson, a music teacher from Mexico, was very interested in Mai Lasu's khoomei, and could not help asking for advice after it ended.
Dermenzhi Pavel from Kazakhstan said, "This is my first time to appreciate such a concert! The live performance is perfect, the sound effect is excellent, and the atmosphere is captivating, which makes me feel excited. I would like to express my gratitude to organizers of the event. Through the symbol of the 'horse', they conveyed the joy of Chinese New Year to us. It seems that I saw the symbols of good fortune, wealth, travel and wonderful life."

As an annual BRLC's event, the New Year Concert has been held for four consecutive years. In 2025, the number of BRLC member cities and organizations exceeded 100, covering multiple countries and regions across Asia, Europe, Africa, and America. It marks that the platform enters a new stage of "joint development of a hundred cities". This year, BRLC will continue to take culture as a driving force, regard cooperation as a link, and promote the implementation of more high-quality and sustainable local cooperation projects, which facilitates the in-depth advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative at the local level.
