At the virtual signing ceremony, both parties discussed the research subject of the positive role that the Asian Games plays in the internationalizing process of the host cities, such as Jakarta, Bangkok, New Delhi, Incheon, and Pusan. Furthermore, they will undertake research around the theme of “promoting common prosperity amid high-quality development”, and the practices of the countries along the Belt and Road in efforts to bridge the wealth gap and balance development.

“Honey is not yielded by a single bee, while porridge is not stewed with a grain of rice”, Dr. Bernadia, Secretary General of UCLG ASPAC, quoted the saying in Chinese to call for the exploration of new cooperation opportunities between the cities and countries along the Belt and Road through forums, exchange and cooperation activities with a view to achieving common development and prosperity.
