On March 2nd, Mr. Alberto Antinucci, Vice President of Italy-China Link Association (ICLA) visited Hangzhou People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Both parties discussed ICLA’s participation in promoting the cooperation between the UCLG ASPAC Committee on the Belt and Road Local Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as “BRLC”) and the cities and relevant institutions in Italy.

Guo Weihong, Vice Chairperson of Hangzhou People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, extended a warm welcome to Alberto Antinucci. Both parties exchanged the views on the intended cooperation projects. Alberto Antinucci said: “This is the first time for me to visit China after the three-year pandemic, which is of great significance. We hope to resume the offline exchange and launch the in-depth cooperation in economy, trade, culture, education and training.”

Italy-China Link Association (ICLA) is one of the founding members of BRLC. Ms. Maria Moreni, President of ICLA, is also appointed as the Co-President of BRLC. Over the years, ICLA has actively offered advice and recommended members for BRLC. Up to now, 10 Italian cities and 3 institutions have joined BRLC. Member cities have proactively participated in BRLC activities, such as International E-commerce Training Workshop, and 2050 Conference Observation Activity and so on.

Vice Chairperson Guo Weihong hoped that ICLA would support the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou to be held in September this year. The Third Council Meeting and Second General Assembly of BRLC would be held in the latter half of the year; ICLA and Italian members of BRLC would be invited to participate in the event at that time. Both parties hoped to further boost the all-round and multi-level exchange and cooperation and build bridge of “people-to-people bond” between Italy and China.
