On January 21-26, 2024, Yuan Mindao, vice president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), led a delegation to Italy and San Marino, warmly received by Italy-China Link Association which serves as a joint chair of the Belt and Road Local Cooperation Committee (BRLC) and is a member of the Committee.
During their visit to Italy, the delegation was invited to the ITALY-CHINA FRIENDSHIP & COOPERATION DAY held by the Italy-China Link Association. Maria Moreni, co-president of the BRLC and the president of the association, attended the event with the leaders of Brescia and Valdobbiadene, also members of the BRLC. Heads from other regions and prominent economic, cultural, and sports figures joined them.
Vice President Yuan Mindao stated in his speech, "People's friendship is the cornerstone for developing relations between two nations, and local cooperation deepens that friendship. Italy is highly aligned with China's new development concepts such as sci-tech innovation and green development. Cooperation among local governments of us will be promising." Italian representatives attending the conference said, "China is playing an increasingly important role in the world and has a potential market. Italy is willing to seize opportunities to achieve joint development with China."
